JPIC Roma

MISSION: We draw attention to and address the causes of refugees and forced migrants, as well as support those who are concerned, welcoming and caring for those who are forced to leave their homes and seek safety elsewhere.

 

​OBJECTIVES: The group's primary objective is to ensure that the plight of refugees and migrants is a concern of the JPIC Commission and relgious congregations in Rome and beyond. In particular, we—

• Provide members and interested JPIC promoters an avenue for reflection and deepening their understanding of issues related to refugees and forced migrants;

• Assist in keeping congregations and the general public mindful about the plight of refugees and forced migrants;

• Express solidarity with missionaries and men and women religious engaged in the pastoral care of refugees and forced migrants;

• Explore the root causes of the complex reality of migration and be a part of the solution; and

• Network with agencies working in this area.
